Vintage Collapsible Metal Stirrup Cup/Mug & Original Leather Case

Deze oude opvouwbare bekertjes die zie niet vaak. Het is als je het uittrekt een bekertje en ook in losse delen uit elkaar te halen. Ik dacht eerst dat het een goochel bekertje was voor een spel als "balletje-balletje". Maar het schijnt dat dit soort cups ook gebruikt worden voor kampeerders en in het verleden tijdens de jacht.

This type of collapsible cup, also known as a stirrup cup, was widely used by equestrian riders to take a final drink before setting out for the hunt, Which is where the term stirrup cup derives from. This one is unmarked and silver plated. That is why the underpart is turned into yellow. The cup does show surface wear.  It is straight out of an estate and has hasn't been cleaned or polished in any way. The original box shows a little bit of wear.  These cups can be precarious to use, and you have to make sure is it pulled in place tightly if you intend use. It has a folding handle, and was most often just used to down a shot with before putting it back in the case.
