Naaigerei | Artikel: Victorian Style Needlework Accessories

Today we have Facebook – in the 19th century the Victorian lady had her sewing circle.

The Victorian sewing circle was an event eagerly anticipated by women of all classes. The attraction was not to just sew; like Facebook, women could exchange gossip, family news, secrets and ideas. The sewing circle enabled women to stay connected.

The Victorian sewing circle was also a time to exchange sewing patterns, learn new sewing techniques and show recently purchased items such as Scissors, Pincushions, Needle Cases, Thimble Cages, Sewing Compendiums and Chatelaines of every description.
